Our General English Mini-Group for Beginners guarantees that those students learning English for the first time get first class tutoring with a maximum of only five students in a class. This course is designed for students who know no English at all and those who know a few words, numbers and greetings. All our teachers are highly qualified native English speaking professionals ensuring that every student achieves the best possible results. Maximum 5 students per class.

Student information
Alpha School of English is open all the year round except for public holidays. Almost all courses begin on a Monday and end on a Friday.
It is possible to begin a course on any Monday during the prescribed period. Minimum course length is 1 week and the maximum length is 50 weeks. One lesson takes 45 minutes. Standard Courses are from 9.00 a.m. to 10.30 a.m. and from 11.00 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. Intensive Courses are from 1.00 p.m. to 2.30 p.m. or 3.00 p.m. to 4.30 p.m.
All our lessons are held at the main Alpha School of English building in St. Paul's Bay. However One-to-One courses may be held elsewhere by special arrangement (for example at the student's place of accommodation). Please note that when there is only one student taking a group course, the number of lessons is reduced by a third.
Course Availability: Courses are available all year round except for our shutdown over Christmas. Home Tuition courses are available during the shutdown period.

- Bank charges are payable by students
- Students must be 2 years of age or over
Cancellation policy
- The cancellation needs to be communicated in writing to the school by the person who booked the course.
- The deposit is non-refundable.
- After a course has started there is no refund for any accommodation or other item booked.
- No tuition refunds are given for late arrivals, early departures or absences, for whatever reason, from classes during any course.
- If a student is absent for one or more weeks at a time, arrangements can be made for the course duration to be extended at no extra cost.
Refund policy
- Bookings may be cancelled up to 5 weeks prior to commencement of the course without penalty or fee
- If a course is cancelled more than 30 days before the start date, the following charges will apply:
- 1 week tuition
- If a course is cancelled between 14 and 30 days before the start date the following charges will apply:
- 1 week tuition
- 1 week accommodation
- registration fee
- 1 week tuition
- 1 week accommodation
Visa refusal
- 1- No refunds whatsoever are given for Visa refusal.
Other terms
A minimum of two students is required to offer a standard course of 20 lessons per week. When there is only one student in the class, the student is given individual tuition and the total number of lessons is reduced by a third. There is no change to the cost of the course.
Students who book a self-catering apartment or Host Family must also book an arrival airport transfer to ensure safe arrival at the accommodation.
