General English gives students all-around ability in English at any entry level: speaking, listening, reading and writing, naturally including grammar and vocabulary. There are 5 levels (GE1 Beginner to GE5 Pre-Advanced/Advanced) of 10 to 12 weeks each, split into modules of 5 to 6 weeks. Students do weekly oral presentations, writing assignments and review quizzes, plus a module test and a level exit test. A pre-arrival test sets the starting level. Classes average 7 students (maximum 15); lessons are 45-50 minutes. 20 lessons per week (15 h 50 min), Monday to Friday mornings, about 9:00 am to 12:30 pm. Application fee CAD 150 (non-refundable). Textbook CAD 65 per module or CAD 120 per level (CAD 5 per week for stays of up to 2 weeks), bought at the school unless it is on your invoice. Students can start any Monday except public holidays. Level and module start dates are tentative and are confirmed once there are enough enrolments: after booking, every student takes a pre-arrival test and the school confirms the start date, or proposes the nearest possible date if there is no seat at the right level. School closed, with no make-up classes, on 1 January, 15 February, 26 and 29 March, 24 May, 1 July, 2 August, 6 and 30 September, 11 October and 11 November 2027, and during the winter break from 25 December 2027 to 3 January 2028.
