Spanish One to One (20 lessons)

Escuela de Idiomas Nerja has taught Spanish as a foreign language since 1980. It is in the very centre of Nerja, on the Costa del Sol (province of Málaga), in a typical Andalusian building with a large tropical garden and an outdoor café, a few minutes' walk from the beaches. It has 16 classrooms, indoors and in the garden, and welcomes around a thousand students a year from more than forty countries. The school is a member of IALC (International Association of Language Centres), its courses are recognised for Bildungsurlaub (educational leave) in Germany, and it has been shortlisted many times for the Study Travel Magazine Star Awards as best Spanish school. Courses include the Intensive Course (20 lessons a week, groups of up to 10), the Super Intensive Course (30 lessons, groups of up to 6), one-to-one classes, DELE and SIELE exam preparation, a course for teachers of Spanish, Spanish with flamenco or scuba diving, and Club 50+ for students over 50. Lessons last 50 minutes and use a communicative method, taught only in Spanish. The school organises a monthly programme of activities: the Nerja caves, Frigiliana, kayaking, tapas tours, cookery classes, Spanish cinema and day trips to Málaga, Granada, Córdoba and Seville. Students can stay at Club Costa Nerja, the school's own residence in the old town (rooms with breakfast, studios and apartments, with a roof terrace and pool), or with a Spanish host family. Nerja is about an hour by road east of Málaga airport. The school is closed on public holidays and over Christmas (in 2027, from 20 December to 9 January 2028).
