For life-long learners who want to study at their own pace and combine English with culture, gardens, walking, cycling, golf, theatre and Yorkshire history. Lessons in the morning, visits and local life the rest of the day. Fully residential and all inclusive: you live at Fleetham Lodge, a country house in Kirkby Fleetham (North Yorkshire, about 40 miles north of York, 15 minutes from Northallerton) with the teachers and the family who run the school. The price covers the course, your own room, all meals (the whole house eats together, cooked fresh with produce from their own kitchen garden), books and materials, afternoon and evening visits and activities (historic houses, gardens, towns such as York or Durham, local events), and transfers from Newcastle, Leeds Bradford and Teesside airports and Darlington or Northallerton stations (Manchester Airport: GBP 250 per pick-up). Lessons are in the morning (about 9:30-13:00) in a dedicated classroom. Courses run all year round, subject to availability.
