Student information

We offer our Spanish courses at all levels and guarantee that our Spanish courses always take place throughout the year. You can book a Spanish course for 1 week, or up to a period of several months. All of our teachers are native speakers with University degrees, and specialized in teaching Spanish as a foreign language. Beside a wide range of different courses we offer a daily cultural programme and different weekend trips to Cordoba, Seville, Alpujarra Mountains and the Trpoical Coast.

I was really happy when I got the confirmation for my two-months internship from the Spanish school Escuela Montalbán. My work consists of translation and web design of the school’s web site. Furthermore, I could calculate costs and complete data bases. The school offers a perfect opportunity for people who want to do an internship in the administration area. It never get’s boring. In addition to my internship I got offered language courses in order to improve my Spanish.

The language school Escuela Montalbán in the center of Granada is a cosy and matey place. It is situated in a small building on two levels with three small class rooms each. You get to know all the staff very quickly as there are about 15 people working here and some of them are – good for them – on holiday as it is high summer time at the moment. They really strive to form courses consisting of people with a similar level of Spanish in order to make the classes effective and useful.

I was 3 months at Escuela Montalbán. I started from the very beginning and improved my Spanish very quickly thanks to a professionalism of the teachers and very well selected groups. The staff of the Spanish school was extremely friendly and helpful, especially Paco. The accommodation was provided by the school. In the apartment I lived with 4 Spanish persons. They were very friendly, kind and open-minded and helped me boost my Spanish and experience Spanish culture and traditions.

I was for 4 weeks at Escuela Montalban to follow a level intermediate B2 course. The quality of the lessons is really good since they offer only small classes and teachers are really friendly and knowledgeable! They only speak Spanish to you, therefore, it enforces you to speak and it develops your Spanish! The atmosphere in the school is great! The school is cozy and the teachers, people that work there are extremely friendly, knowledgeable and warm.

I just finished a 3 month Spanish course at Escuela Montalban. I enjoyed my time there a lot. The atmosphere was relaxed and the staff was really friendly, so that I felt welcome and like a part of the school comunity. I learned a lot. The lessons were effective and interesting and I liked the teachers. The school offered a lot of different activities, such as hiking, rock climbing and horse riding in Sierra Nevada National Park, Flamenco dancing, cooking classes or movie evenings. The activities make it easy to get to know the other students and to make new friends from all over the world. Granada is a great city. I love the tapas culture for example. With every drink you get a tapa for free. What I liked the most was hiking in the Sierra Nevada and dancing Salsa and Bachata. There are dance partys every night and I improved a lot while being here. Dancing Salsa helped me as well to make Spanisch friends and to use my new knowledges of the language. I was sad when I had to leave Escuela Montalban and Granada. I will come back for sure as soon as posible and I can recommend everybody to go there as well!

Terms & Conditions: Escuela Montalbán

- Services must be paid in full 15 days before the course starts in order to complete the enrolment and secure a place in the course and/or accommodation.
- Bookings are not transferable.
- Bank charges are payable by students
- Students must be 14 years of age or over

Cancellation policy

- The cancellation needs to be communicated in writing to the school by the person who booked the course.
- The deposit is non-refundable.
- No refund will be made for shortening the course duration after the payment.
- There is no refund for any cancellation once the course has commenced.
- After a course has started there is no refund for any accommodation or other item booked.
- No tuition refunds are given for late arrivals, early departures or absences, for whatever reason, from classes during any course.
- If a student is absent for one or more weeks at a time, arrangements can be made for the course duration to be extended at no extra cost.

Refund policy

- 1- No refunds whatsoever are given for cancellations.


Visa refusal

- In case a visa is refused to the student, the school will charge 200 Euro and the remaining balance will be refunded to the student upon receipt of an original VISA refusal letter.

Other terms

Included in the enrolment fee (50 €):
Administration costs, information about Granada, free Internet access/WIFI, use of library and multimedia room.
Accommodation Placement Fee: 30 €.
Included in the course fee:
Level-testing, course, educational material, costs of some cultural activities, certificate of attendance.
Not included in the course fee:
Airport transfers, travel insurance, the costs of some of the activities included in the cultural programme, final SIELE examination.

How do I book a language course / accommodation?
 
Booking with us is really easy. You just have to go to the link of the school you are interested in. Where it says COURSE and then START, you select the dates you wish to study there. Afterwards, you select how many weeks you want to study.

You then select the course you wish to attend. You can add optional services, such as accommodation and airport transfer. If you would like to add these additional services, you need to go further down the page where you will find the section relating to ACCOMMODATION. You select the option of the type of accommodation you want (You do not have to select the dates here if they are the same as the course - they are automatically selected).
After the Accommodation, you have another option,  that of TRANSFER. This option allows you to book a transport that will pick you up at the airport and will take you to your residence or host family.

Once you have selected all these options, on your right hand side, you are going to see a summary of your reservation with all the information about the course and the accommodation, together with their prices. Also, the deposit you have to pay will be displayed there. You just have to press the Orange Button that says BOOK NOW and this will take you to another page to enter your personal details. When you are booking you only have to pay the little deposit. After that, we will contact the school and request your booking. When your booking is confirmed by the school or host, they will hold your place until the your booking balance is paid in full. The same applies for the accommodation. You can pay with credit card, a PayPal account or, for most countries, bank transfer; as you prefer. This deposit you pay now will be discounted from the total price. The rest of the money will not have to be paid until 15 days before your course starts. In any case, you will be receiving emails about your deposit payments; and also, reminders about the rest of the money when it needs to be paid.

When do the courses start?
The start dates of intensive and standard language courses are generally flexible. If you have some basic knowledge of the language, you will be able to start any Monday of the year at almost any school. If you are a total beginner, courses usually start once or twice a month.
You should be aware that language schools have more students in July and August than during any other time of year, which means that course fees, housing prices and the overall cost of living are often more expensive during this time. If you would like to book a course in July or August, you should do so very early: schools have limited spots and might be booked well in advance for the high season. Your chances to get your preferred housing type are also greater if you book your course early. Housing options near the school are especially difficult to secure in the summer and tend to fill up quickly.
Language courses during the low season (September to June) are not only less expensive, but also have smaller classes. If you are able to wait to take your courses during this time you will pay less for your courses, and  you may even receive better housing, since demand is much lower. How do I know if a place is available?
 You can find the availability status underneath each price on the school / host page. Nevertheless, if you submit a reservation request and your place is not available, the deposit paid will be 100% refunded.
